Job Description

The Warehouse in Feilding, New Zealand, is seeking a professional and vigilant Loss Prevention (Security) Officer to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our assets, staff, and customers while maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment.

Sunday/Monday 10.00 -17.30
- Monitor and operate surveillance equipment to detect and prevent theft, fraud, and other security breaches
- Conduct regular patrols of the store premises, identifying and addressing potential security risks
- Apprehend and detain individuals involved in shoplifting or other criminal activities, following proper legal procedures
- Collaborate with store management to implement and improve loss prevention strategies
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, providing first aid when necessary
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports for management and law enforcement agencies
- Assist in training staff on security awareness and loss prevention techniques
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements

Qualifications
- Valid security guard licence as per New Zealand regulations
- Previous experience in security or loss prevention, preferably in a retail environment
- Thorough understanding of security systems, surveillance techniques, and loss prevention strategies
- Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation
- Physical fitness to perform the duties of the role, including standing for extended periods and responding to emergencies
- First aid certification (preferred)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Familiarity with retail security procedures and loss prevention techniques
