You will be doing mechanical drafting on a range of innovative heavy machinery products. These products improve customers functionality, efficiency, and safety.
So, the products you will be working on will be filling a niche market gap and making a real difference to improve customers bottom line AND the safety of people in this industry.

These products will keep the business rolling in and generate cashflow for R&D product development so that over time you will work on an ever-widening pool of products, keeping things interesting for you.

This could be the sort of role that you start doing drafting and move more in a designer direction long term or stay in the drafting space if that is where you are happy.
Alternatively, if you already have more design experience then the drafting work could be spread around so some more design work is available for you.
This is a salaried role, and the company have been good about annual salary reviews and raises so you won’t stay static on the salary front.
**The Role & Team**
Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will join the Mechanical & Electrical R&D team involved in engineering design of new heavy mechanical products and making upgrades to existing products.
Work could include maintenance and updates of current products as well as drafting for new products under the guidance of the mechanical engineers.
So, for example, doing mark-ups, drawings, and models, checking and uploading BOMs, and making parts manuals too.
**Does This Sound Like You?**
- Mechanical Draftsperson with at least 3 years’ experience
- Proficient with SolidWorks for CAD drafting, PDM, and managing BOM’s
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor is an advantage too
- Have an eye for detail and ability to QA check designs
- Can think laterally and be able to figure out the full impact of any drawing changes made
- Practical nous and a motivated attitude
- Have good communication skills
