**About the Role**
The role of Enrolled Nurse (EN) in Respiratory Services is to provide a quality nursing service to patients who attend outpatient appointments in the Respiratory Service at Hutt Valley Hospital or in the community setting. S/he will undertake patient activities such as basic lung function testing, vaccinating, chaperoning and assisting as needed with nursing activities. S/he will also contribute to the smooth and efficient running of outpatient clinics, and undertake some housekeeping, restocking, clerical and cleaning functions.
The EN will also take part in the community lifestyle and pulmonary rehabilitation sessions alongside the physio. Assisting with the programme and making sure the patients are able to exercise and take part within a safe environment.
**About the Team/Service/ Location**
The Respiratory Department at Hutt hospital provides specialist care for conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, lung cancer, bronchiectasis and many other conditions. They provide specialist outpatient clinics, nurse-led clinics, and lung function testing. Patients are seen as inpatients, or outpatients, both in clinics, and community settings. The team includes SMOs, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist, Respiratory Scientists, an Enrolled Nurse and an administrator.
**About you**
A.Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Competent in effective communication including written, verbal and non-verbal communication
- Licensed in New Zealand for driving manual or automatic vehicles
B.Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations:
- Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as an Enrolled Nurse
- Holds a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Practicing certificate
- Recent experience in a relevant clinical setting
C.Someone well-suited to the role will place a high value on the following:

- Promoting good health and wellbeing with patients
- Continuous improvement and pride in the role. Looking for ways to further develop this role within the department
- Attention to detail
- Experience with spirometry testing
- Experience vaccinating
- Experience working in community settings
