**Mō te tūnga | About the Role**

Our Community Stroke Rehabilitation Service is a specialised service focusing on the rehabilitation needs of adults (aged 16 and over) who have experienced a stroke. Rehabilitation is primarily community-based and is delivered within an interdisciplinary approach, providing client-centred assessment and care.

We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years’ experience to join our team in supporting people to live well within their own communities. We’re passionate about continued professional development and offer a supportive, collaborative environment for continued learning.

Based primarily at The Princess Margaret Hospital or Burwood hospital this is an exciting opportunity which offers variety as you work within a network of our community teams, as well as Christchurch and Burwood campuses.

This is a permanent, part-time role working 24 hours per week. Days and hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. Community travel is required.

**Ko wai koe | About You**

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Undertaking comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments; developing and implementing therapy plans, considered within a holistic approach
- Providing education and resources to clients and their family/whanau, as well as the wider interdisciplinary team
- Contributing to service development and quality initiatives as well as to the evaluation and development of Occupational Therapy practice within the service
- Understanding the implications and relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi for health and uses in the clinical environment.
- Fostering and maintaining relationships across inpatient and community services

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience**

You will have the following skills:

- New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist with current APC
- A minimum of two years post-qualification experience
- Clinical experience in the specialist area of Stroke/Neuro-rehabilitation/Gerontology
- Full drivers licence
