Te tūranga - The role The Finance Unit is part of The Reserve Bank of New Zealand's critical group to ensure banks financial operations are efficient and represent value for money. The role of the Assistant Accountant is to undertake accounting tasks to ensure that the outputs of the Finance Unit are met, especially in the compilation and reporting of financial information. Ō pūkenga - About you You're an excellent communicator, with the ability to build relationships across multiple business groups. You are proactive in your approach and you have a willingness to take personal responsibility for the quality of your work. Some of your responsibilities include:

- Prepare financial accounting tasks during month-end, such as accounting journal entries, balance sheet accounts reconciliations, fixed assets and financial reporting for cost centres and projects.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and team members to work on various finance reporting requirements.
- You will work alongside the Management Accountant Team, to provide sound financial advice and accounting support.

**You'll bring**:

- Tertiary qualification in accounting.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Experience with GST, FBT and NRWT tax legislation and compliance issues would be an advantage.
- 1 - 2 years' experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable or accounts receivable would be an advantage.
- Experience in TechOne or similar accounting software would be an advantage.
