The Adviser Inquiries Support role offers a unique opportunity to work within a relatively new, dedicated function ensuring Corrections engages meaningfully and proactively with Waitangi Tribunal kaupapa inquiries, Royal Commissions, and other inquiry-like processes such as those undertaken by United Nations entities.

As the Adviser, you will help scope and plan Corrections' engagement across a number of concurrent, long-term inquiries.

You will help identify risks and opportunities to inform advice to senior leaders, including Executive and Minister, about how these will be navigated. Your advice will acknowledge and reflect Corrections' commitments as a treaty partner, our values, and objectives under our strategy, Hokai Rangi.

You will liaise with inquiry staff and other government agencies, and with staff across the Department of Corrections, to prioritise demands and ensure requirements and deadlines are met.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you are interested in the developing role of the Waitangi Tribunal in considering te Tiriti o Waitangi | Treaty of Waitangi implications of social policy, and the role and contribution of the corrections system in the New Zealand social policy context.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- An ability to proactively develop networks of collaborative and constructive relationships across Corrections, and with other agencies and inquiry bodies as appropriate
- The ability to plan, prioritise and organise your workload to ensure that deadlines are met, and work is delivered to an agreed standard
- An ability to manage and work confidently with large volumes of information, including working with and/or establishing effective information management systems

**Utu a-tau | Salary**

The midpoint of the salary range is $87,132 and the full range (85%-120%) is $74,063 - $104,559. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
