mahi (About this position)
Our orderlies support patient
care by safely moving patients and items around the hospital at the right time,
to the right place, in a courteous, professional and well-presented manner,
contributing to the effective day-to-day operation of Orderly Services at
Wairau Hospital.
We have two casual positions
available, working on an as required basis, covering
staff leave and periods of peak service demand. It will be important that you
are available to work across AM, PM and Night shifts, of varying lengths,
sometimes at short notice. Some forward planning covering planned leave will be
available.
In addition to hourly rates, we
pay penal rates for evening (after 8.00PM) and weekend work, and additional
payments/time off if you are rostered to work on a public holiday.
Please note that there are no
minimum guaranteed hours of work for casual employees. However, the more shifts
that you're able to fill, the more hours you will be offered.

You will be an excellent
communicator who is passionate about delivering a quality service. You will be
efficient and able to manage your time effectively. A clean driver's licence is
essential.
Due to the nature of the work
you must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. It is
essential that you are physically fit and active with knowledge of heaving
lifting techniques.
Hotel / Porter / Orderly or
Security worker experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Mandatory requirement
For the health and safety of
staff and patients all Te Whatu Ora staff are required to be vaccinated in
accordance with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
This means you will need to be fully vaccinated and boosted.
