- Collaborate, own and review technical design proposals and proof of concepts.
- Lead and mentor a junior developers where required.

**Main Objective of the Role**

The purpose of the position is to work with development teams and product managers (both SECTION6 and our client) to ideate, produce and deliver scalable software solutions for transformational projects.

The primary aim of the software solutions are to enable new capabilities and ways of working that create opportunities for increased efficiency, innovation, and reliability of services while lowering time to value.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Participates in the design and creation of scalable software as a consultant on possibilities, taking the created design as input, understanding it and working through the constraints and executing the design vision into engineered reality.
- Use and build component libraries.
- Design, developing and building Application Programming Interfaces (Rest API) and user interfaces.
- When needed, dive into the full stack and modifying backend services.
- BDD automated testing and deployment using tools that include Selenium, Cucumber and Jenkins or similar.
- Fixing bugs/other coding issues, through troubleshooting, debugging and upgrading software.
- Create security and data protection settings.
- Set up code standards and reusable patterns for others to follow.
- Write technical documentation.

**The experience, knowledge and attributes required to be able to operate as a SECTION6 Front-End Developer, are as follows**:
We hire technologists with broad knowledge and experience; however, you must be a developer at heart.
- Significant hands-on experience with cloud native platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for production workloads.
- Experienced in developing against modern relational databases and non-relational databases including (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (Elastic, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Have demonstrable experience in designing, developing, and writing effective APIs.
- Experienced with building user interfaces, but are also comfortable diving into the full stack and modifying backend services.
- You have sound experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
- A level of design and business understanding so as to not compromise on business goals and design intents.
- Someone who fully understands; Agile Enterprise Software Application Development/ SaaS.
- Someone who has a good understanding of SCRUM methodology gained through working and following the related principles thereof..

**Advantages Experience**:

- Experience building server side APIs using OpenAPI specifications.
- Front End development using NodeJS runtime environment to run JavaScript.
- Experience with BDD automated testing and deployment tools including Selenium, Cucumber and Jenkins or similar would be desirable.
- Knowledge of Docker/Vagrant and containerisation principles.
- Good understanding and knowledge of Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
