**About the role**

The Recovery Systems Engineer II role is not your everyday 9-5 desk-based role; the successful applicant will be fully involved and have responsibility in all aspects of the project engineering lifecycle - including design, analysis, fabrication, test (both lab and in the field), launch recovery operations and upgrades to facilitate re-use.

During testing and launch operations, the Recovery team deploy to sites around New Zealand as well as offshore, providing hands-on support to deliver the test or mission objectives. The role is well suited to a generalist, multi-disciplinary engineer given the varied and full-lifecycle nature of the work. Practical problem-solving, keen attention to detail and a strong can-do attitude are essential for success.

**About the team**
The recovery team works with fast paced and challenging projects to develop the systems, operations and processes that go into the recovery and re-use of the first stage of our Electron Rocket. We are a team of tight-knit engineer's, technicians from a range of backgrounds, fully dedicated to the delivery of our goals.

**Essential Skills**
- Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Marine Engineering, or a related field
- Strong hands-on approach to system and component development
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
- Experience with CAD software (Solidworks, Siemens NX, etc.)
