**Job Description**:

- Provide leadership, direction, guidance and advice on all QHSE matters affecting the business nationally, taking full responsibility for matters affecting the company
- A key leadership role as part of the senior management team and managing a team of five.
- Ensure full compliance is maintained for required ISO standards
- Lead the QHSE team to drive a zero-harm culture and deliver SGS NZ QHSE strategy and objectives
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legislative and certification requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of QHSE initiatives and compliance with QHSE policies and safety requirements
- Ensure the QHSE team supports the business to investigate QHSE events, implement corrective actions, and manage ACC rehabilitation and return to work programmes
- Oversee the yearly audit schedule and implement and maintain ISO 9001, 45001,14001 certifications to standard
- Ensure environmental incident reporting and investigation is undertaken as per the provisions of audit and legal requirements

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum OHS Diploma / Degree)
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of QHSE in a high-risk industrial environment
- Sound understanding and requirements of Health and Safety at Work Act and Accident Compensation Legislation and other relevant Regulations and Good Practice Guidelines
- Understanding of the Hazardous Substance Act
- Formal quality, safety auditor training
- Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering, and validating QHSE-related training material
- Experience in quality management
- Environmental auditing experience would be a desirable attribute
- Prepared to travel widely and frequently within New Zealand
- Full NZ driver license
