We are seeking a visionary Principal Engineer - Deposits to contribute their Engineering expertise to BNZ’s strategic direction in Transforming Core Banking Products while moving them from Mainframe to a cloud based Platform. What are the responsibilities the person in this role will have? - You will mentor and guide engineers at all levels, conduct training sessions, and promote continuous learning and technical excellence. Your leadership will inspire innovation, align strategies, and strengthen BNZ’s core banking. - You will drive best Engineering practices that align with BNZ’s Engineering standards - You will be leading collaboration across multiple workstreams ensuring there is community of practice developing to consistent Engineering standards. - Your responsibilities range from being a totally hands on developer contributing to team’s goals, reviewing code, to leading technical discussions with Vendors and helping the team with technical design in partnership with Architects and Engineering Leads. What is the team environment like? It’s a fast paced, time driven technology transformation team that has a clear focus and motivation to deliver Term Deposits on the new platform. What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity? This is a rare opportunity to lead Core banking product development within a large technology transformation programme that spans across multiple teams and domains at BNZ. What specific tech skills would be beneficial? A technical leader with extensive experience in Java Springboot for restful API development, Kafka, Kubernetes along with utilising Cloud based services on AWS.
