We are a busy Bakery and café located in Wanganui, currently looking for two or more hard-working Baker Assistants to join our bakery to prepare high-quality food and follow health & safety regulations as well as our shop standards.

Our bakery and café is looking for two or more full-time permanent positions with a guaranteed 30 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours, roster between the hours of 3 am to 5 pm, Monday to Sunday. You will be required to work during weekends and some public holidays except Christmas to meet the needs of the business operation hours.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Gather food ingredients for cooking and serving.
- Collect pots and pans for cooking food ingredients.
- Weigh and measure ingredients for baking.
- Wash, peel, cut, slice, and dice ingredients for cooking and serving.
- Assist the baker in making pies, sweets, and cooking hot food.
- Prepare and cook meat sauce gravy for the baker.
- Store food supplies, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware in designated storage areas.
- Clean the floor and shop windows at the end of the shift.
- Follow food safety hygiene and empty the rubbish bin at the end of the shift.
- Help with making bread and donuts.
- Assist in adjusting pie refills for daily sale.

**Qualification/Work experience**:

- No qualification is required;
- No work experience is required, however we would like someone with a passion to work inside the bakery with high heat conditions and can work early morning shift.

- Time management skills
- Able to follow instructions
- Good at communicating
- Personally fit as it may involve lifting heavy ingredients and being able to stand for a long period of time

The pay would be $28.18 /per hour to $30/ per hour depending on your skill level and work experience.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

**Salary**: $28.18 - $30.00 per hour
