Timaru has very few Registrars competing for clinical experience, allowing direct one-to-one interactions with Consultants. You will get to participate fully in theatre cases assisting alongside the Surgeon.

The training environment supports a wide variety of surgical cases and there are weekly, protected teaching sessions and Hospital Grand Rounds, along with access to specific courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Plus, you will have the support of a dedicated Senior Doctor.

**Please note that applicants are required to have a minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience working in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom or Ireland.**

Based in a General Hospital Facility, which has just commenced a significant refurbishment programme, we provide our local community with such critical 24/7 services as ED, ICU/CCU, General, Orthopaedic, ENT Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Geriatrics, Oncology, Palliative Care, Internal Medicine, and Paediatrics.
