We have a role within our Upper North Island Work Assist team based in **Auckland.** Travel within the wider Auckland region is required and a company vehicle will be provided.

It’s a job like no other As an APM WorkAssist Employment Consultant, you will support a variety of job seekers, some with health conditions and/or disabilities, to gain meaningful, long-term employment. Your day will be filled with:

- Getting to know your caseload of jobseekers, understanding their stories, and fostering trust so that you can effectively help them gain mahi aligned with their goals, experience and strengths.
- Helping jobseekers upskill via pre-employment activities (e.g. Creating employment action plans, CVs and cover letters, interview preparation etc.); identifying training needs for particpants’ chosen industry/sector, and liaising with local training providers to gain short course certification
- Facilitating access to well-being/ health/ disability supports and networks so that our customers are well-supported in their transition into the world of work
- Creating meaningful connections with local employers and businesses, government & industry/sector partners, disability support and other providers to seize those golden work opportunities for our jobseekers
- Supporting our successful participants and their employers as they settle into their new jobs, roles and responsibilities - and beyond

Our Employment Consultants are selected from a wide range of careers - including sales, social services, business development, government and industry. Life skills, enthusiasm to help people, practical outlook, grit & resilience, and the ability to bring out the best in people are key attributes we look for.

You will need to be organised, self-driven, even entrepreneurial in your approach, and be comfortable working autonomously. Experience or understanding of the Mental Health and Disability sector would be advantageous.
