Opportunities range from enhancing our backend services, improving developer experience and deployment mechanisms, and in some places completely re-engineering new versions. **Key Accountabilities** - Collaborate with cross-functional product engineering teams to create quality software that our customers love - Produce clean, consistent and well-organised code that we regularly push to production on our technology stack. - Contribute towards continuous improvement in the company’s processes, practices and product - Work in a “build it and run it” environment where engineering teams build, deploy, monitor and support their components that they own - Proactively research and lead design and then drive adoption of modern technical practices such as DDD, TDD, CI/CD, pair-programming and mob-programming. - Mentor and coach other engineers at any-level. - Hands-on guidance in the use of principles and practices of leading-edge techniques such as Lean, Agile, Automated testing, Continuous Delivery, DevOps and cloud-based hosting across engineering crews. - Influence and contribute to company-wide engineering culture and outcomes with exemplary working behavior, collaboration and engineering practices. - Help determine areas for improvement, both product and process, and to assist in driving solutions across the organization using a mixture of innovation and pragmatism - Encourage community engagement both inside and outside of Serko to benefit our engineering culture. - Open to receiving and giving feedback in a safe and inclusive work environment - Adopting modern development practices especially around emergent design, automation and continuous delivery - Willingness to jump into all areas of our products and processes to improve them when needed - Working in multiple technologies across all layers (from front-end to back-end) - Great verbal and written communication - Leading design and planning meetings, story mapping workshops and bringing extensive domain understanding; clearly articulating technical outcomes and nuances. **Skills, knowledge and experience** - Open to receiving and giving feedback in a safe and inclusive work environment - Adopting modern development practices especially around emergent design, automation and continuous delivery - Willingness to jump into all areas of our products and processes to improve them when needed - Working in multiple technologies across all layers (from front-end to back-end) - Great verbal and written communication - Leading design and planning meetings, story mapping workshops and bringing extensive domain understanding; clearly articulating technical outcomes and nuances. **Benefits** It's important to us, that our people can bring their whole selves to work.
