We at Gilmours North Shore believe in providing superior service, quality and are proud of our Standards. We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Grocery buying team. Reporting to the Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for the Buying Programme of the Dry Goods area, but should have greater ambitions of taking on running a team.

We are currently looking for a confident, self-motivated person with a high attention for detail to join the team based in North Shore.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Manage the Buying Programme for the Dry Goods departments - Deliver on commercial outcomes to drive department growth.
- Build relationships with the wider team and leadership to get the best results
- Work with the buying team on long-term strategy and direction to ensure we stay ahead of the trends
- Maintain stock levels at optimum level, negotiate, partner, and communicate with suppliers to get the best deals for our customers.
- Manage all stock control systems and processes, and make sure appropriate procedures are in place
- Undertake necessary administrative functions of the role. Complete paperwork audit - ensuring all Vendor Credits are captured.
- Replenishment of the Dry Goods divisions ensure they exceed store standards and maintain a high service level to our delivered customers.

**What are we looking for?**
- Buying experience is advantageous. FMCG market awareness and Industry knowledge are key.
- Confident with retail/FMCG systems, CRM tools e.g. Salesforce and SAP.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), relationship management, negotiation and networking skills who is customer focused.
- Strongly Analytical skills and strategy development, Computer literate.
- Demonstrating and living the Foodstuffs values. With the ability to listen, advise and come up with commercially, customer driven, solutions.
- Ability to communicate and influence across internal/ external stakeholders.
- A love of food and experience in the foodservice industry is highly desired.
- Flexibility to work weekends as well as weekdays as required.
- Have a valid work permit or NZ Citizen.
