**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
Takapuna’s Community Library & Service Centre serves the community, offering an inclusive environment for all walks of life. Integrated Library and Council Services is a relatively new way of working and progressing best practise and a positive sense of team culture is essential.
You play a lead role in providing a welcoming, professional, and responsive service. You work alongside staff and the North Auckland Research Centre team to ensure the smooth running of all offerings within the library building space. You proactively coach and develop your team to engage with the community, respond to diversity and opportunities, and create experiences that leave people delighted by their visit and keen to return.
**He kōrero mōu: About you**
Key to this role will be your extensive management and leadership experience. Having developed people and teams in a leadership capacity, you bring an innovative view to ways of working. You have strategic and operational capability to work alongside the community in delivering responsive and relevant services. Your leadership style is adaptive to differing situations, reflective and responsive. You are not afraid and are able to bring about improvements to benefit the community and team.
You will have the proven ability to connect with and establish strong relationships with both community members and current & potential community groups. You have the appetite as well as experience in not only building and uplifting a team, but creating a vibrant, strong, and positive culture.
Understanding the importance of relationships with the Devonport/Takapuna Local Board and the communities within this area is essential to the success of delivering targeted services.
Recognising that change is an everyday part of what we deal with and knowing how to bring team members through times of ambiguity into freshness and creativity with a positive approach is vital. You understand the importance of diverse thinking and skilfully build and develop teams with this in mind.

This is a permanent opportunity working 40 hours per week. The library is open seven days a week and flexibility around working hours may include weekend days and late nights.
