Our Bay of Plenty Transport regional business is in full swing with construction projects underway in Tauranga on Cameron Road, SH33 and Te Ngae Rd. We are seeking two Special Machine Operators/Grader Operators to play a key part in the success of these projects.

**About the job**:
Based out of the Downer Tauranga depot, you will essentially ensure high quality infrastructure projects are delivered to plan using your expert operator skills. You will be proficient in operating Grader Machine across a range of situations including; pavement construction on local roads and state highways, subdivision works, carpark construction, bulk earthworks, haul roads and **Final Trim Grading**. You will also provide expertise to ensure quality assurance, support with problem-solving, and the implementation of ideas.

This is a full-time, permanent role guaranteeing 40 hours paid work per week. You will primarily operate over a Monday - Friday work week, however occasional weekend, night shift and away projects may be required. We guarantee a minimum of 40 hours each week

**About you**
You will have experience operating grading machines in civil construction environments. With an eye for detail and a steady hand, you will have a passion for quality results and a knack for project delivery. You will be able to operate heavy grader machinery to produce accurate line level and texture across roading, pathway and shared space construction and maintenance projects throughout the Bay of Plenty region. You’ll bring with you:

- A Class 2 Drivers License with WTR endorsements
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- A commitment and confidence to maintain safe work practices
- Strong leadership and team work skills
- Background in GPS is preferred
- A positive outlook, friendly attitude, and willingness to flex to the work as and where required
