He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
If you have previously worked with disabled people and their families, or have lived with experience of disability, have a relevant qualification and are passionate about working in the community with a strong focus on empowering people to live a good life, please consider this newly created role supporting disabled people and their whānau in the Taupō/ Tūrangi region within the Support Net team.
You will have a good understanding of the principles of Enabling Good Lives (Principles - Enabling Good Lives) and be able to demonstrate experience in roles where you have supported people who may experience discrimination or marginalisation to live their best life.
This is a full-time role, 1.0 FTE (40 hours a week) based at our Rotorua office, with outreach to Taupō and Tūrangi.
He korero mōu - About You
You will need to be able to lead conversations with disabled people to support them and their whānau to develop plans for living a good life. A good knowledge of the Taupō/ Tūrangi communities, and the supports and services within these communities is essential.
Specific experience in the disability sector is advantageous but not essential, but experience in a rights-based role will be useful.
