**Job Description**:

- Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of results at the Waihi Minerals Laboratory.
- Efficiently and accurately prepare and analyse all main laboratory samples (geochem & environmental).
- Day to day focus on the efficient running of the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and ICP-MS instruments
- Assist with maintaining the quality system in the laboratory
- Work with the Laboratory Manager and department heads/managers at the Waihi laboratory to ensure reporting deadlines are met eg. Daily OGL production samples, BT production samples and compliance environmental samples. Issue and/or check reports as they become available.
- To ensure all activities are carried out with regard and recognition of Health and Safety requirements and personal safety
- Undertake all other relevant work requests relevant to your position

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a general laboratory environment
- Flexibility with working hours and ability to complete 4 shifts of 12 hours, sliding roster inclusive of weekends.
- Advanced computer literacy
- Have an understanding of the service and maintenance requirements of laboratory instruments
- Proven accuracy in previous productivity, would be beneficial
- Unrestricted New Zealand Driving Licence (competent with manual shift preferred).
- Computer skills, report writing skills and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Good organisational skills.
