This is an exciting full-time, permanent position for an experienced Aporei (Principal Advisor) with exceptional communications and relationship skills, a proven commitment to Te Tiriti, a record of advancing equity and a ‘can-do' attitude to really make a difference in achieving Pae Ora. The salary range for this role is $119,550 - $159,400 and will be appointed to align with skills and experience.
As a member of the Hauora Māori team, you will be responsible for leading and influencing high quality strategy and policy, including communication and engagement with a range of stakeholders to support the Public Health Agency to be an exemplar of Tiriti-led policy and strategy and address the wider determinants of health. This work will include supporting the work programme across the teams of the Public Health Agency and in partnership with the Māori Health Directorate and Te Aka Whai Ora.
**You will be someone who has**:
- Demonstrated experience in supporting the Crown to meet its obligations under Te Tiriti O Waitangi
- Expertise in developing strategy and policy that advances equity for Māori
- A deep understanding of whakawhanaungatanga and mahi tahi
- An ability to communicate in te reo Māori and a commitment to tikanga and kawa
- ability to think critically, assimilate complex and often competing ideas logically, and write or articulate these clearly, concisely and conveniently
- bring innovation and new ideas to the team and wider Ministry environment
- excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
- demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring staff
- significant experience of leading projects or programmes of work
