Would you like to work within one of our collegial teams who are passionate about psychological best practice and supporting your professional development at any level? Yes? We have amazing opportunities for psychologists to work at Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility as part of developing a therapeutic community. As we embark on our Hōkai Rangi service pathway this could be the right opportunity for you to further use your clinical skills and expertise in a diverse social service environment.
If you are a registered psychologist or close to it in your clinical training programme, and you are interested in a change of focus in your career with new challenges, we would like to talk to you.
Mō te tūnga | About the Role

**Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility**: A new initiative at Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility (ARWCF) is underway, of which the goal is the development of a site-based delivery model for a psychological service that aligns with and integrates into the initiatives currently underway at the site, including the Te Mana Wāhine pathway for women and the women's strategy E rere ana ki te pae hou, ensuring we meet the psychological needs of the women housed there and the aspirations of Hōkai Rangi. Within this service there will be the opportunity to complete individual assessment and treatment and to run newly revised rehabilitation programmes that have been designed within a braided river (He Awa Whiria) approach - that is Te Ao Māori and Matauranga Māori sit alongside more Western psychological approaches to rehabilitation. The service is intended to operate from a therapeutic unit, providing psychological advice, support, and intervention, as appropriate. We are looking for passionate and dedicated psychologists to form part of this multi-disciplinary team, which will include a Kaupapa Māori Practitioner and a Reintegration Co-Ordinator. There is a strong focus on bicultural practice and Matauranga Māori. As such, the successful applicants will be passionate and enthusiastic about working in this space. An existing understanding of Te Ao Māori and tikanga would be an advantage.
Our professional teams across each of our sites call for someone who:

- Is reliable with strong communication skills
- Has experience in risk assessment in a similar setting (desirable)
- Can demonstrate and commit to culturally responsive ways of working
- Is an excellent problem solver with strong communication skills
- Works well in a collaborative professional environment
- Can demonstrate an understanding of Te Ao Māori/Tikanga Māori and bi-cultural practice
- Has commitment to contributing to the outcomes of Hōkai Rangi
- Wants to begin or progress their career in a development focused service.
- Has a minimum of a Masters degree in Psychology (Clinical or Forensic Psychology and registration with the NZ Psychologist Board in the clinical/counselling and general scope of practice)

In return our services can offer you
- Vibrant supportive team cultures
- Career-long professional development and supervision
- An environment in which psychology informs organisational practices
- A competitive salary and structured advancement opportunities
- World class criminal justice psychology training and mentoring
- Therapeutic community unit-based work with a range of different professionals informed by various evidence-based psychological therapies
