**ABOUT VENTIA**
The centralAlliance is a collaborative agreement between Whanganui and MidCentral District Health Boards to maximise their resources and knowledge. The Foundation Agreement was formalised in August 2009.

MidCentral DHB (MDHB) includes the Palmerston North Public Hospital precinct and Horowhenua Health Centre, with a combined 350 in-patient beds. Whanganui DHB (WDHB) includes Whanganui Hospital with 172 in-patient Beds. The centralAlliance project partners are two of 20 District Health Boards across New Zealand established nationally on January 1, 2001 under the NZ Public Health and Disability Act 2000 (NZPHD)

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the position will carry out and report back on breakdown reactive work and planned preventative maintenance work to deliver and maintain DHB services and ensure that system and equipment failures do not result in disruptions to the delivery of essential services or hospital function.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Identify, manage, and assist the Facility Manager in standardisation of maintenance activities and the planning of preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, reactive repairs, calibrations
- commissioning adjustments of plant and equipment and liaising with specialist third party contractors.
- All related paperwork is completed as necessary in a timely manner e.g. timesheets, purchase orders, job dockets, minor estimates, technical reports

The position will require participation in the site “on call” roster or undertake approved overtime to satisfy service requirements.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Registered and licensed plumber
- Registered IQP (desirable)
- Gas fitting licence (desirable)
- Knowledge of plumbing and drainage materials and methods, building and safety standards and the Building Code in relation to plumbing, gas fitting and drainage.
- Current NZ Driver’s license is a requirement of this position
