Through recent acquisitions, the Azure for Operators (A4O) organisation within Microsoft leads the way in cloud native communication software, with award winning solutions providing highly scalable and fault tolerant systems that run right in the core of over 1,000 service providers and mobile operators.
Microsoft are continuing to invest in growing this new organisation, including the team based in Wellington, New Zealand. **Responsibilities**:
As a software engineer working within the architecture team, you will:
- Work with Product Management and/or Lead Architects to help define and refine requirements to a level that assist the software development teams to fully understand what is needed and what ‘done’ looks like.
- Work with development teams helping to further research and understand requirements to define and develop best practice implementations.
- Take inputs from customers, development teams and product managers and understand how to translate and describe how the product or solution can deliver against those requirements.
- Present major new developments of new products, solutions or components to senior engineers, management, and customers.
- Work with software engineering teams taking the initial requirements through all phases of software development up to delivery.
- Review and analyse field data to understand how the products behave in the field and recommend improvements against that analysis.
- Leverage other platforms (open source and within Microsoft) for building solutions.
- Accelerate development velocity for all engineers and deliver continuous improvements to the team’s process and codebase.
- Build excellent cross group collaboration with other cross-geo teams to remove blockers and drive for comprehensive end-to-end service delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and be a mentor and coach for junior members of the team.
