Our client, Belaire Ferries, is now recruiting for a full-time skipper based out of Hobsonville operating a variety of passenger catamarans ranging from 13-20m. Working Monday through Friday with the occasional rostered Sunday you will be servicing Hobsonville to the CBD and Rakino Island. As a skipper, you will have the opportunity to become an integral part of Auckland’s transport system by connecting communities through the stunning Waitamata Harbour and the Hauraki Gulf.

**Key Tasks and **Responsibilities**:

- Provide exceptional customer service to all passengers by creating a welcoming environment to all those that travel aboard.
- Operate, navigate, and maintain the vessel to the highest standard
- Champion crew and passenger safety and comfort on water and on land
- Train and supervise crew members, encouraging their ongoing development
- Become competent in operating all the vessels within the fleet.
- Adhere to company policy and procedures and familiarise yourself with the company’s operating manuals.

**Requirements**:

- Current Maritime New Zealand Skipper Restricted Limit (SRL) qualification with endorsements for vessels up to 24m, Passenger and High Speed. “Ring Fenced” or Australian equivalent qualifications are also considered
- Current MNZ maritime medical
- Current workplace First Aid Certificate
- Practical understanding of the Maritime Operator Safety System (MOSS)
- Flexible, positive attitude
- MEC5 is advantageous
