As the **Maintenance Technician**, you will be assisting the Director of Engineering and the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the building, plant, equipment, fixtures, and fittings in addition to safeguarding the asset to guarantee that it continues to be a safe, functional, and enjoyable space for all guests and other team members. You'll also make sure that all refrigeration and air conditioning equipment complies with regulations and is safe to use.
- Assist the Director of Engineering / Maintenance Supervisor in the day to day maintenance requirements of the hotel
- The recording of all maintenance tasks performed complete and incomplete including any necessary reports in reference to repairs and preventative schedules
- Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure acceptable availability and reliability
- Carry out maintenance requirements and follow up as scheduled by the Hotels’ Property Management System (PMS)
- Record all maintenance tasks performed complete and incomplete including any necessary reports in reference to repairs and preventative schedules
- Assist in keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
**Qualifications**
You will be:
- A hands-on, self-sufficient individual who takes pride in your work and able to prioritise your workload to ensure effective outcomes
- Experienced in general building maintenance, engineering and/or construction in a 5-star hotel environment is preferred
- Qualified in a Trade to perform your daily duties as a Maintenance Technician
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while having genuine care for the wellbeing and security of yourself and others
- Maintaining a secure and structured work environment through adhering to established protocols, guidelines, and directives
