AECOM’s Energy group are looking for a Team Lead in Secondary Systems Design to work across a number of diverse and challenging projects in Transmission and Distribution, while leading a technical team of design engineers. This role will allow a proven engineer to utilise their engineering knowledge and progress their career in a team leadership role.

What will a day in this role look like?

With a strong pipeline of Transmission and Distribution projects awarded across New Zealand we are looking for a substation secondary engineer to support our fantastic team in Wellington. As well as taking on the responsibility of a Team Lead role, you will be involved in project delivery either in a project management or technical capaciity.

+ Leading a team of protection and secondary design engineers which includes:
+ Ensuring the welfare of the team and maintaining a collaborative environment.

+ Safeguarding the wellbeing and safety of team members and ensuring adherence with AECOM policies/procedures.

+ Coordinating and scheduling project teams to successfully execute projects.

+ Being responsible for team KPIs

+ Involvement in business development activities and preparing proposals.

+ Fostering and maintaining strong client relationships.

+ Identifying and driving change in the team to enhance client experience.

**Qualifications**:
+ Proven technical competency in HV substations secondary design with the ability to work independently

+ Leadership experience - people and/or projects

+ Strong interpersonal skills with the drive to achieve outstanding results

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

+ Commercial acumen, and the ability to maintain client base

+ Proven ability to deal with competing demands under tight timeframes

+ Experience working in an engineering consultancy is an advantage

+ Project management experience is an advantage

+ Experience working with NZ clients and local industry knowledge is an advantage.
