Established over 120 years ago, Nurse Maude provides services to more than 40,000 people each year, delivering over a million hours of district and specialist nursing, home support services, hospice and community palliative care and allied support.
Te Mahi/About the Position

This role will work at an operational level, to support the Kaihautū Māori in advancing Māori health goals and embedding cultural competency across the organisation. The Pou Whirinaki will also play a key role in building meaningful relationships with Māori communities and supporting staff through education and cultural leadership, strengthening Nurse Maude's compliance with national standards, and our readiness for future growth.
He momo/About you
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- A deep understanding of te ao Māori, tikanga and te reo Māori.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly within Māori communities.
- Strong facilitation and education skills, with the ability to support staff development.
- Strong organisation and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills: both verbal and written.
- Agile and able to learn quickly.
Experience working in the health sector or community-based settings would be preferred, but not required.
You will also have a strong alignment with Nurse Maude values, and strategic goals, promoting Nurse Maude's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, championing equity, inclusion and cultural safety and supporting the development of a culturally responsive workforce.
