Our Senior Family Lawyer Role

This is a full-time position based in our office, where you will play a vital role in advising clients on all aspects of family law, including separation, divorce, child custody, child support, and relationship property settlements.

  • Drafting and negotiating complex legal documents such as prenuptial agreements, separation agreements, and consent orders.
  • Representing clients in relationship property matters, family court proceedings, and mediation sessions.
  • Must hold Lead Provider status with Legal Aid.
  • Mentoring and supervising more junior members of the legal team.

Your Responsibilities

You will be required to:

  • Provide expert legal advice and support to our clients.
  • Advise clients on all aspects of family law, including separation, divorce, child custody, child support, and relationship property settlements.
  • Draft and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Represent clients in relationship property matters, family court proceedings, and mediation sessions.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and a current practicing certificate.
  • 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in family law.
  • A deep understanding of relevant legislation, case law, and best practices in family law.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with clients during difficult times.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to provide practical, commercial advice.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills, with experience representing clients in court or mediation.
  • A track record of developing productive relationships with clients and other professionals.
