**About the Role**

A key position within our National Public Health Service (NPHS) is available for a skilled Public Health Nurse. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to transforming the future of health in New Zealand.

In this permanent part-time role, you will deliver public health nursing services across the community. Your responsibilities will include assessment of population health, attention to the multiple determinants of health, an emphasis on primary prevention, and continued commitment to best evidence-based public health nursing practice.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our public health nursing team works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered, and locally tailored.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles. You should also be able to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels, model an agile approach, and utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking, and professional judgment.

  • Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse
  • Holds a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Demonstrated competence in application of Māori health models to nursing practice
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • An eye for detail and commitment for continuous quality improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Full Driver's License
