Mechanical Performance Specialist - Contract Role
We're looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support our team in Oxford District, United Kingdom. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-precision mechanical components and systems.

About the Job:
This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong mechanical insight, practical design skills, and a proactive approach to rapid development cycles. You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to design and develop high-precision mechanical components and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop precision mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Perform mechanical and thermal analysis (e.g., via FEA) to validate designs.
  • Create and iterate on conceptual ideas and prototypes.
  • Conduct hands-on testing and make real-time design improvements.

Requirements:

  • Solid background in Mechanical Design & Analysis, ideally with SolidWorks and FEA tools like ANSYS.
  • Precision Engineering experience in scientific equipment, aerospace, or high-end manufacturing.
  • Hands-on Development experience, including prototyping and test rig setup.
  • Systems Thinking understanding of how mechanical design impacts system performance.
