About Mt Hutt Station Road, located in the heart of New Zealand's stunning South Island, we're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Hand to join our team. Our kitchen is the beating heart of our ski field operation, serving up delicious meals to fuel our customers' adventures.

As a Kitchen Hand, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly, preparing menu items, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Your experience in commercial or high-volume kitchens will serve you well in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of menu items and ski area cuisine adhering to company recipes and Head Chef instructions to ensure consistency.
  • Mise en place preparation fresh with adequate prep, in time for service.
  • Stock control and planning for variances in trading, minimisation of wastage.
  • Communicating with and serving customers.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy section and kitchen.
  • Completing tasks and necessary record keeping required by the Food Control Plan.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a commercial or high-volume kitchen is desirable.
  • Food Safety or Basic Cookery certificate is desirable.
  • Must understand basic food safety practices.
  • A high level of personal presentation and hygiene.
