About the Role:
Medical Laboratory Scientist - Wellington Blood Bank at NZBS- This is a permanent, full-time position in a fast-paced environment.
- The role involves direct involvement in patient care and contributing to someone's recovery every day.
We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at the Wellington Regional Hospital. As a key member of our blood bank, you will be responsible for performing a range of duties related to pre-transfusion, antenatal, and diagnostic testing, as well as the issue of blood and blood products for clinical purposes.
Your main responsibilities will include working collaboratively with our team of scientists to ensure high standards and quality service. You will also be expected to contribute to patient care and participate in our 24-hour, 7-day roster.
To be successful in this role, you must have a positive attitude and be committed to patient care. You should also have the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to respond quickly to emergency situations.
We are looking for an individual who:
- Is experienced in transfusion science or a related discipline.
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Can work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Is self-motivated and has a positive attitude.
Previous experience working in a blood bank would be an advantage, but it is not essential. If you are a motivated and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
