Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waikato, Waikato. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and reporting on transthoracic cardiac ultrasound examinations and assisting with transoesophageal and other echo-supported procedures.

About the Role: As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will serve both the inpatient and outpatient areas, acute needs in ED, ICU, and theatre, and assist in other diagnostic areas when required. You will also participate in TTE and TOE lists within the department as well as mobile and bedside examinations when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a full range of echocardiographic examinations and complete technical reports.
  • Complete preliminary reports with Cardiology/Echo system.
  • Identify, demonstrate, and report cardiac pathologies.
  • Support other more complex procedures in the operating theatre and cardiac catheter lab when required.
  • Participate in the on-call after-hours service.

Requirements:

  • Be registered as a sonographer with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board (MRTB) with a current practicing certificate;
  • ORHave an appropriate qualification for cardiac sonography acceptable for registration as a sonographer with the New Zealand MRTB.
  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
