Disability Rights Strategist

Key Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Disability Rights Strategist to join our team at the Health and Disability Commissioner. As a key advisor, you will provide strategic advice and support to the Deputy Commissioner, Disability, focusing on the development and implementation of HDC's Disability Strategy.

About the Role:
The Principal Advisor – Disability will hold extensive knowledge about the Disability sector in NZ and will play a leading role in the delivery of HDC's Disability Strategy and affiliated work programme for HDC. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing trusted strategic advice and support to the Deputy Commissioner, Disability
- Liaising with stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Engaging with external partners to promote HDC's mission and objectives
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A strong understanding of the Disability sector in New Zealand, including its challenges and opportunities
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship-building
- A collaborative and flexible approach to work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
