Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Counsel to join our Legal Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert legal advice on a wide range of public law matters, including legislation development and litigation management.

About the Role

  • You will advise on environmental law matters, including resource management and climate change.
  • You will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice to Ministers and internal stakeholders.
  • You will support the growth and development of legal team members and other Ministry staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adequate litigation experience and expertise in legislative development.
  • Knowledge of Te Ao Maori and tikanga, as well as Treaty of Waitangi obligations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and stakeholder management abilities.
