About the Role
Mercy Hospital Dunedin is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Specialist to join our team. As a technical specialist, you will be responsible for leading our occupational health and safety, risk management systems and processes. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and extensive experience in managing risks and incidents.
You will work closely with leaders and employees to develop and implement health and safety plans, and provide coaching and mentoring to ensure health and safety obligations are understood and supported throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Implement effective health and safety frameworks to maintain a culture of safety
- Develop and implement health and safety plans in consultation with stakeholders
- Review and develop health and safety systems, processes and policies to meet organisational needs
- Partner with leaders and employees to develop rehabilitation and safe handling programs
- Lead the management of Mercy's emergency management planning and preparedness
- Support stakeholders to utilise and manage incidents and risks effectively
