The Role
We are seeking a Speech-Language Therapist to join our team, supporting children from two years through to school entry who have high communication and eating/drinking support needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a community-based setting, partnering with whanau/families and early childhood teachers in developing and implementing Speech-Language Therapy programmes.
About the Job
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children with complex communication and eating, drinking, and swallowing support needs
- Working as part of a team alongside an Early Intervention Teacher and other Specialists
- Developing and implementing individualised Speech-Language Therapy programmes
- Contributing to Individual Plan and ORS applications
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognised qualification in Speech-Language Therapy
- Eligibility for membership of NZSTA
- Undergraduate paediatric dysphagia training and post-qualification experience
- Experience working with preschool children in an interdisciplinary team environment
- An ability to establish effective relationships with families, early childhood facilities, and other agencies
