About Kia Puāwai

We specialise in providing therapeutic services for young people with complex needs.

Our innovative approach combines evidence-based practice with a focus on our core values of manaakitanga, wairuatanga, aroha and whanaungatanga. We have a national office in Auckland and over 150 staff and caregivers supporting young people across the North and South Islands.

In this role, you will care for a young person aged 11-17 in your own home for approximately 12 months if full-time or provide short-term relief from the primary caregiver if respite. You will support them to attend school, engage in hobbies and activities, maintain a relationship with their family, and provide opportunities to learn life skills.

You will also attend regular meetings and training to enhance your caregiving skills and receive feedback. As an independent contractor, you will be paid a weekly allowance and any agreed expenses reimbursed.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have a suitable living space, a full NZ Drivers Licence and a reliable car, complete a Police and MSD vetting process, and have a willingness to undertake training in our evidence-based programme.
