**Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled Business Correspondent to join our newsgathering team. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for identifying and reporting on business, finance, and economic news stories for our audiences across digital and linear platforms.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of breaking stories and setting the editorial agenda with their work. They will also possess excellent communication skills to understand and report on complex stories for a range of audiences.

You will provide editorial heft to the newsgathering team and must have the flexibility to work outside usual business hours for major news events.

**Key Responsibilities**

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • identifying and researching business, finance, and economic news stories;
  • writing and editing news articles and scripts;
  • conducting interviews with key stakeholders;
  • analyzing data and information to inform story decisions;
  • working collaboratively with other members of the editorial team;
  • meeting deadlines and working under pressure.

**Requirements**

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • a degree in Journalism or a related field;
  • a minimum of 5 years of experience as a journalist;
  • excellent writing, interviewing, and research skills;
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines;
  • high level of personal credibility and decision-making skills;
  • flexibility to work outside usual business hours;
  • organized and able to manage competing priorities.
