About the Opportunity

As a key member of our Digital Strategy and Architecture team, you will be responsible for engaging across the business to define Operational Technology (OT) related ICT sub-strategies aligned to business need and investment cases.

You will provide architectural leadership to delivery teams through the creation and maintenance of functional roadmaps, conceptual and functional architectures, standards, policies and principles. The focus for this role will be on the OT domain including the hardware and software that monitors and/or controls our primary grid assets.

This involves the growing use of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), devices interconnected with edge IIoT platforms and/or via cloud-based software. You will have depth and breadth of experience in all aspects of ICT service design, delivery and operations, with outstanding communication skills that allow you to engage at every level of large and technically complex organisations.

You will have led technical delivery of architecturally significant and complex projects and been accountable for the technical solution end to end, driving both technology and innovative business solutions. With strong analytical skills and the ability to anticipate and provide practical solutions, you will be adept at providing architectural leadership.

Your proven ability to drive innovation, champion IT/OT convergence, will be complemented by a consultative style and confidence that is backed by your experience leading the delivery of architectures and standards, including setting guidelines and enabling consistent delivery of technology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage Transpower's Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) strategy and define the roadmap for the acquisition or development of applications and infrastructure capabilities that support Transpower's strategic business objectives.
  • Provide architectural leadership to delivery teams through the creation and maintenance of functional roadmaps, conceptual and functional architectures, standards, policies and principles.
  • Engage across the business to define OT related ICT sub-strategies aligned to business need and investment cases.
Requirements
  • Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven professional experience working in technology architecture (IT and/or OT) roles for a national or international organisation, including the provision of options or evaluation of technology (hardware, communications, software, security, services).
  • Demonstrable professional experience in OT roles/environments.
  • Enterprise strategy development and planning for business and/or technology.
  • Prior experience communicating and influencing through insightful, persuasive and trusted advice, working directly with senior stakeholders, including influencing, translating, and presenting ideas and solutions in simple terms to Senior and Executive leaders.
  • Experience in the development of IT/OT and system strategies and roadmaps to address business strategy.
  • Proficiency in OT architecture, data architecture and cybersecurity by design, and the implementation of OT infrastructures, including real-time architectures and control systems such as SCADA.
  • Strong understanding of IT/OT networking and communication protocols and their application across the power systems.
