Job Description:
Special Education Advisor

Salary:
$69,996 - $118,450 per annum + 3% kiwi saver.

About the Role:
This is a permanent part-time role (0.5 FTE) based in the Gisborne Office, servicing the Tairawhiti Region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective learning support to students who require it
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, families, and the sector
- Develop and maintain productive professional relationships
- Commit to evidence-based interventions that demonstrate inclusive education practice and contribute to raising student achievement

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrable knowledge, experience, and skills in supporting children and young people with severe and challenging behaviours
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, families, and the sector
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to sustain productive professional relationships
- Genuine commitment to evidence-based interventions, which demonstrate inclusive education practice and contribute to raising student achievement
- Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
