Job Description
As a PA or NP, you will collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care plans, conduct assessments, develop plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes. You will work under the supervision of the HSA, PM, or higher medical professional and assist the Physician in providing medical care and treatment to the inmate population.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform minor surgical procedures, repair lacerations, and remove sutures.
- Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements
This role requires a master's program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs, previous correctional/detention facility experience, and minimum two (2) years' experience. You must also hold an unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice, DEA registration, and lifesaving BLS and PALS certification through AHA.
