Job Description

The Medical Assistant will participate in planning, providing, and evaluating patient care at the appropriate skill level. They will perform all duties at the expert level within the scope of a Medical Assistant's practice, including operating diagnostic equipment, removing staples from superficial wounds, changing wound dressing and obtaining cultures, administering non-intravenous medication, performing simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques, collecting blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary, and performing EKGs.

The Medical Assistant will also perform quality control checks on equipment, prepares and sterilizes medical equipment using the autoclave, and fosters accountability for clinical practice and patient goals. They will coordinate the clinic work activities and schedules, at one or multiple locations, and may be required to travel to more than one facility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certificate issued by an accredited institution approved by the State licensed to work, or one year experience working in a health care setting that includes direct patient contact.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong venipuncture knowledge and techniques.
  • Data Entry Abilities And Strong Computer Skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong customer experience/service focus.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Teamwork orientation.
  • Organized and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Expert in computer literacy in electronic health record.
