About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Youth Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Clubs Development Team, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of our clubs and societies.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for working with students and young people. You will be responsible for providing administrative support, event planning, governance advice, grant funding, and organizing engaging learning and development opportunities.

About You

You may be an experienced administrator or learning and development coordinator, or you may have recently graduated with a relevant degree. What is important is that you are passionate about administration and supporting young students. We can teach you about governance structures, but you need to enjoy collaborating, be organized, and have excellent communication skills.

Important Skills & Qualifications

  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. advocacy, mediation, welfare, law, education, events, communications, marketing)
  • 2+ years industry experience in administration, learning and development, or a similar role is advantageous but not essential
  • Empathy, sensitivity, and appreciation for students and the diverse backgrounds of the student body
  • A good understanding of working in a bi-culturally competent environment, or the openness to learn and grow in this space
  • A current and full driver's licence
  • A creative, enquiring mind and the ability to 'think outside the box'
  • The ability to work in a team and a great sense of humour
