Role Overview

This full-time hybrid role for a Civil Engineering Technician involves various tasks related to civil engineering design, land surveying, and computer-aided design (CAD). The primary location for this position is in Auckland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Civil Engineering Tasks: Plan and design construction of structures within projects, providing technical assistance with building and structure construction.
  • Civil Engineering Concepts: Apply civil engineering principles to assist and advise accordingly.
  • Construction Planning: Prepare construction plans noting budget and variable costs, timetables for completion, maintenance, and repairs as required.
  • Estimates and Reporting: Prepare estimates in terms of time, costs, labor, and materials; ensure work conducted is within relevant legislation and standards; prepare engineering reports and applications for client approval.
  • Field Testing and Inspection: Conduct field testing of materials and equipment, reporting findings to the site engineer as necessary.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams, and councils; discuss and report design, construction, or planning problems with engineers and other team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Civil Engineering Design and Skills: Proficient in civil engineering design and skills.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Land Surveying Knowledge: Possess knowledge and experience in land surveying.
  • CAD Proficiency: Skilled in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Attention to Detail and Organization: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • HVAC Industry Experience: Experience in the HVAC industry is advantageous.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (NZQA LEVEL 7) preferred.
What You Will Get
  • Pay Rate: $30 - $34 per hour.
  • Minimum Hours of Work: 30 hours a week, maximum 45 hours a week.
