**Job Description**

We are looking for a dedicated and caring Health Care Assistant to join our team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Nelson Marlborough. As a Health Care Assistant, you will work closely with our nursing team to deliver high-quality patient care in our Inpatient Unit at Wairau Hospital.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist nursing staff with care delivery, including basic patient observations and some clinical tests and monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with the nursing team to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge

**Working Conditions**

Our Inpatient Unit operates in a fast-paced environment with a variety of medical and surgical specialties. You will be required to work rostered shifts, generally from Monday to Sunday.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong understanding of healthcare principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also require NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand.
