About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ministerial Advisor to join our team. As a key member of the Hon Tama Potaka's office, you will provide expert advice on policy matters, help communicate government initiatives, and support the Minister in his decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide sound political advice to enhance government policy decision-making
  • Support the Minister in his delegated areas of responsibility
  • Build effective working relationships with the Minister's team, peers, and stakeholders

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of issues, from responding to Official Information Act requests to contributing ideas for the programme of the House of Representatives. Your ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively will be essential in this role.

Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or previous experience working in a ministerial office or government department
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of information and resolve complex issues under pressure

This is an events-based position based on a 3-year parliamentary term. The likely appointment range for this role is $116,000 – 141,000 per annum.
