About the Role:
Tangram is seeking a skilled Industrial Equipment Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our company has grown to become one of the most respected producers, processors and exporters of semi-processed and finished hides, skins and leathers for markets across the world.
The Job Description:
This role involves working on a two-shift rotation with 3 weeks on morning shift and 1 week on evening shift. Standard work hours are 40 hours per week within a set time frame as per shift pattern below. Start and finish times are determined based on operational needs and may change. Hourly pay rate is $35.00 - $45.00 depending on experience + Kiwi Saver if applicable.
Your Experience:
We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years' experience as a Fitter, Fitter – Turner, Fitter - welder, or Fitter/Machinist or similar. Experience in machining, welding, diagnostics, hydraulics and pneumatics would also be an advantage. A basic understanding of mechanical systems including drives systems, transmission systems and bearings is essential. Previous experience in maintaining machines and equipment in a Tannery or a similar environment (manufacturing or heavy process industry) is preferred.
About You:
You should be able to work unsupervised within a small but well-skilled team. You must be able to work rotating shift structures and be available for call-outs. You should be able to spot and remedy issues before they become problems. You should provide reliable and accurate feedback to management. Strong organizational skills which complement the need to manage a variety of priorities and standards are necessary. Hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate (level 4) or equivalent qualification. You must be physically fit with the ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test.
