Main Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight over the Xero Group's global indirect tax function by giving specialist advice, performing periodic compliance reviews, and supporting the Tax Team by preparing or reviewing filings as required.">
  • Engage with the business by providing tax advice on indirect tax matters, as well as supporting the Finance Team and wider business with projects.">
  • Embed efficiencies and improvements into the Tax Team's processes, including driving or participating in transformation projects.">
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including third party service providers.">
  • Work closely with the Finance Operations Team, Xero Billing Teams and others to ensure the accuracy of indirect tax collection and reporting.">
  • Ensure that Xero's tax policies, processes and governance conform to the highest standards of accuracy.">
  • Mentor and support junior members of the Tax Team.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • ">
  • At least 7 years' of relevant experience in the Tax field, either in a large corporate or Big 4 CA environment.">
  • Be either CA / CPA qualified or a law professional.">
  • Proven tax compliance background.">
  • Strong knowledge of indirect tax principles and legislation, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.">
  • Participation in or management of tax technology and transformation initiatives.">
  • Experience working in a global indirect tax function is advantageous.">
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities.">
  • Skilled in the preparation, review and manipulation of data.">
  • Ability to research and document relevant legislation and tax guidance.">
